Three judicial districts

Which Migration Court will consider a decision of the Swedish Migration Board depends on where in Sweden the Board made its decision.

As regards the Migration Courts, Sweden is divided into three ‘judicial districts’. Each judicial district covers several counties.

The Administrative Court in Stockholm receives cases from the counties of:
Stockholm, Uppsala, Södermanland, Östergötland, Gotland, Västmanland, Dalarna, Gävleborg, Jämtland, Västernorrland, Västerbotten and Norrbotten.

The Administrative Court in Malmö receives cases from the counties of:
Skåne, Blekinge, Jönköping, Kronoberg and Kalmar.

The Administrative Court in Gothenburg receives cases from the counties of:
Västra Götaland, Halland, Värmland and Örebro.
